Hello my name is Alexis Sittenfeld-Parkhurst and I am a Senior in high school at San Marin in Novato, California where I take part in the STEM program, jazz band where I play the alto saxophone and occasionally the flute, swim for my high school, and play water polo for my high school. I have plans for the future like going to a good college to then major in something with the environment or animals like marine biology. I want to help the beautiful world we live in because right now we are destroying it. I want to specialize in marine life, I love the water, hence playing water polo and being on the swim team. That is why I am a swim instructor, lifeguard certified, and advanced scuba diver certified.
I had my first dive in Cancun, Mexico where I swam with whale sharks and explored an underwater museum. Next I went on an abroad trip to Fiji where I stayed with a host family to perform community service work along with getting my open water certification. Then I went on a trip with my father to Utila, Honduras and got my advanced diver cert, nitrox cert, and a specialty in containment and capture of lion fish in the Caribbean. I plan to participate in more scuba diving experiences in the future especially pertaining to conservation like coral restoration projects.
